Join a different kind of graduate programme

Lots of people go through life trying to be as individual as everybody else. Most people like to think they are different but only a special few are brave enough to really do things differently. It’s tempting to go with the obvious, the well known, the comfortable, the big brand; and in doing so you willingly surrender your identity to that brand.

DCC is not looking to create you in their image, they want you as an individual. They may not be the obvious choice but for those prepared to open their minds to new possibilities it will prove to be a very wise choice indeed.

Business Management

Our managers are some of the best in the world and we pride ourselves on growing and developing true leadership. As a graduate in Business Management you will be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging commercial placements which may involve working with a fast paced central function managing customer marketing/sales projects or working on post-acquisition integration projects. Our Business Management graduates will be involved in many aspects of the business and will work across a number of areas including: Sales and Marketing, Retail and Operations.

IT

IT within DCC is about aligning business operations and IT. The emphasis of our IT roles is not just on technology itself, but more importantly its application to our business processes. For us IT is about translating opportunities into added value for our customers.

Graduates will firstly master the role of business analyst both from an operational and project perspective. This will involve understanding how the multiple systems are deployed across our businesses (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Web, CRM), specifically how the interaction of procurement, sales and logistics combine to offer a competitive advantage.

Logistics

At the heart of all our operations is our industry leading logistics capability. Whether it is coordinating a fleet of tankers or providing end user fulfilment for major internet shopping sites our capabilities provide competitive advantage.

As a Graduate in Logistics you will gain exposure to our varied operations, gain real responsibility for elements of these operations and be expected to lead business improvement to ensure high performance standards are met for our customers.

Marketing / Sales & Marketing

A Marketing/Sales & Marketing role within DCC will see you working closely with key decision makers across DCC. You will gain exposure to a fast paced challenging environment where you will be required to quickly become familiar with business models across DCC. Our businesses are sharply focussed on strong commercial performance and the results of your contribution will add real value and be clearly visible.
A Marketing role will see you developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies aligned to our customer base and getting involved in customer satisfaction and feedback work.
A Sales & Marketing role will see you involved in developing and implementing creative and commercial sales and marketing initiatives.

Locations

As a global organisation our company operates in 15 countries and our graduates will be working in a number of our businesses throughout the UK, Ireland and perhaps further afield. If you are successful in our programme you will be placed in up to three different companies over a 24 month period. This could mean, for example, that you spend the first rotation working within a company in a UK Energy business and then spend 8 months working in an Irish Healthcare business followed by another rotation working in a SerCom business back in the UK. Whatever path you end up on, you'll need the flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a dynamic environment.

What to Expect

If you’re looking for something beyond a conventional graduate programme we might be offering just what you need. Some graduate programmes claim that they will give you a real learning and opportunities to find your niche, we really mean it. Our programme runs on a rotational basis across a number of our companies, moving across up to three of these companies over two years. We will provide you with support to be as successful as you can, but we'll expect you to have real responsibility from day one. In exchange for taking on this challenge, you'll learn more about business in two years than you would on any other graduate programme.

Who are you?

DCC is not an average company looking for average students. We’d like to think you are reading this because you don’t want to go with the flow and you are looking beyond the obvious choices to find greater career success. The DCC Graduate Programme is not designed for passengers; we want to create our future leaders, people who can build on our existing success. It’s a big ask so you’ll need to arrive with an entrepreneurial spirit, a willingness to be challenged and self motivation in abundance. If you’re now more excited than scared, this is your opportunity. Make the most of it, Apply today.
